What is a .NAME domain?

.NAME is the only gTLD (global Top Level Domain) authorized by ICANN exclusively for private individuals.

Since the Registry has reserved all second-level names, .NAME registrations are made at the third level, for example FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME.NAME.   Registrations are restricted to individuals.
